Created by the Freelancers Union and NY-based startup AND CO, "The Freelance Contract" is a contract template that crafts a contract based on the information you’ve inputted.
In order to create a contract, all you really need to do is fill in the information requested, customize some of the contract parameters, and once you’re done, the website would spit out a completed contract that you can use.
As far as legality is concerned, contracts created by The Freelance Contract adheres to New York City’s Freelance Isn’t Free Act. If you’re operating outside of New York City though, you may want to check with a lawyer to see if the contract is valid first before relying on it.
Handy though the tool may be, do keep in mind that this is still an online contract template. If you’re particularly afraid of the worst-case scenario while you’re freelancing, it would be a wise decision to consult a lawyer instead of solely relying on this tool.
