Getting Started With Groupiful
First off, you need to register. Groupiful doesn’t support logging in with a Google or Facebook account, so you’ll have to set up a new account specifically for Groupiful. The registration process is simple enough though, just enter a username, email and password, verify the provided email address and you’re good to go.
When you log in for the first time, you’ll be taken to your Dashboard. This is where you access groups and get a quick overview of the Notes, Assigned Tasks, Events and Recent Files from all the groups you’re a part of.
To create a group, click on My Groups in the top bar and then click on Create a Group. You’ll be taken to the Create a Group screen. Here you can set the name of the group and a short description, as well as set the group’s privacy and group members’ default role.
To invite people, first select the group you want to add members to. Then click on the Manage link in the top bar. This will take you to the group management interface.
To add members, click on the Members icon in the list on the left. This will take you to a list of all the active members in the group. You’ll see some links at the top of the list. Click on Invite. Here, you can either enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite, or grab an invitation link that you can send to them via IM or chat.
Groupiful Features
Groupiful has a number of handy features that will undoubtedly help you better organize and manage your groups. Within these groups, you can create and assign tasks to members, post notes, create events and upload files. All of these are accessed through the previously mentioned group management interface.
Clicking on one of the Notes, Files, Tasks or Events icons in the left-hand navigation buttons will take you to a list of items for that particular category. You can edit and delete items directly from the list. The list also shows different information depending on which category you’re viewing.
To add a new item, click the New link that’s right above the list. Clicking it will take you to another screen where you can add a new note, event or task, or upload a new file. Here’s what adding a new note looks like:
In addition to these features, Groupiful also lets members of a group communicate with each other within the app itself. Groupiful has a Posts feature that keeps members updated on new (or updated) notes, tasks, events and files, as well as allowing members to post ideas or thoughts. Other members can comment on and discuss these posts or updates.
Pricing
As with a lot of apps of this type, Groupiful has a number of pricing tiers for groups. There are four tiers which differ in terms of maximum members per group as well as available storage space:
- The Starter tier is free, but only lets you have 10 members in a group, with a maximum of 100MB file storage.
- The Team tier costs $5 a month, allowing up to 25 members and 500MB worth of files.
- The Business tier costs $15 a month, with a maximum of 50 members and 2GB worth of files.
- The Corporate tier costs $30 a month and supports up to 100 members with a total of 5GB of storage space.
One thing to note is that these plans apply on a per group basis.
Conclusion
All in all, Groupiful is a very useful web app for those looking to manage, organize and coordinate group work. While it may not be as feature-rich as enterprise CRM services like Salesforce, Groupiful’s feature set is more than adequate for smaller teams and non-enterprise situations.
If you often work with smaller teams and need a way to conveniently organise and coordinate group work, give Groupiful a go.
