Apple’s latest iOS version, iOS 7, is now available for download. If you’re new to it, there are several features and tips you should be aware of.
You can update your device over-the-air by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update. However, keep in mind that the update is over 1 GB in size. The time it takes to download will depend on your internet speed.
If you prefer, you can also manually update and install iOS 7. This article will guide you through the process. But before you proceed, make sure to backup your device.
iOS 7 is compatible with iPod (5th gen and above), iPhone 4 and above, iPad 2 and above, and the iPad Mini. The iPhone 5S and 5C come with version 7.0.1 pre-installed. Here’s how to get iOS 7 on your Apple device.
Identifying GSM vs. CDMA Models
If you’re unsure whether your device is a GSM or CDMA model, you can find out by checking the model number on the back of your iPhone or iPad. For example, the model number A1387 corresponds to the iPhone 4S.
Note: For additional help with identifying models, visit Apple’s support pages for iPhone and iPad. You can also refer to this comprehensive list of model numbers.
