Lookup Emojis with Your Keyboard on WhatsApp Web
Frequent users of WhatsApp Web are probably aware that WhatsApp itself comes with an extensive library of emojis. Unfortunately, picking a specific emoji from the entire list can be rather tedious as it involves navigating through the whole set of emojis.
Thankfully, there is an easier way for you to pick the emoji you want from the entire library, and the best part is that you’ll only need to use the keyboard for it to work.
In order to look up specific emojis without accessing the emojis menu, all you need to do is enter a colon, followed by a description of the emoji in the message field.
For example, say you’re looking for the dancer emoji in WhatsApp. All you need to do is go to the text field and type in “:dancer

Doing so will cause a small bar to pop up above the text field that highlights all the emojis that fit the criteria. You can navigate between emojis using the arrow key and hitting enter will insert the selected emoji into the text field.
One minor problem about this emoji input method is that emojis with different variations, such as the thumbs up emoji, will still require you to select a variation with your mouse. Other than that though, this shortcut will most definitely cut down on the time it takes for you to look up an emoji.
