How to Mine FIRO Coin
Firo (formerly known as Zcoin) is a coin that claims to be the next generation cryptocurrency with the most powerful privacy features. Firo brings you a new and improved way to securely and anonymously transact cryptocurrencies.
Their FiroPoW mining algorithm makes use of all of your GPU’s power. It also has a random sequence that changes each block to provide the currency with extra ASIC and FPGA resistance.
So, if you want to start mining FIRO with your own GPU, you can do it by following this guide (Linux and Windows only).
Start mining FIRO with your GPU
The first thing you should know is that FIRO is designed to be mined with GPUs only. To start mining, you will need at least 6 GB of RAM on your system.
Step 1: Create FIRO wallet
In order to receive your pool earnings, you need a wallet address. First, download and create your wallet, where you will find your wallet address, which is required to start mining. You can download it from FIRO’s official website.
Step 2: Install T-Rex Miner
Download the T-Rex miner and extract the files to the desired folder.
Step 3: Choose a pool for mining
Open the folder where you unzipped the files and find the FIRO-pool.bat file in it. Choose a mining pool from the most popular FIRO mining pools and then right-click on the file. Then just click Edit .
A text file will then open; now here you need to keep in mind that the closer you are to your pool geographically, the more efficient your FIRO mining will be.
Step 4: Replace the wallet address with your own
In the same .bat file, you simply need to change the default wallet address to your own.
Step 5: Lastly, run the file
Once you have run the file, you can start mining. That’s all, now you are a new miner of the FIRO currency!
Once you are done, you can get information about the mining process by visiting your pool. In this case, it’s 2miners. So, if you’re mining on this pool too, simply follow this link and enter your wallet address.
The pool will display real-time mining reports to you about your hashrate, mining efficiency and payment history. If you are not mining on the 2miners pool, then here are the links to the other two pools: WoolyPooly and MintPond.
