Restrict Access to Certain Mobile Apps with AppLock
Lending your phone to another person can be a risky prospect, particularly if you want to avoid access to sensitive information in some of your phone’s applications. Thankfully, there is an app called AppLock that lets you put a lock on some of your more sensitive apps.
Available for Android devices, AppLock lets you set a security lock on many of the device’s apps, folders and even functions.

All you need to do is to:
- Open up AppLock and find the application or function that you wish to lock.
- Once found, tap on the Lock icon, and upon giving AppLock the correct privilege, the app will now be locked.
From that point forward, every time you decide to launch the app, you’ll be prompted for a password before you’re able to access it.
AppLock will allow you to use either a numeral password or a pattern-based password. For devices that features a fingerprint scanner, the app will also provide an option for you to use your fingerprint instead.
For those who foresee themselves lending out their devices on a regular basis, AppLock lets you set up custom profiles as well. These profiles will let you choose which apps are available and which apps are locked, allowing you to restrict parts of your phone according to your needs.
